Young Musicians Charity Concert
in aid of CLIC Sargent

Each year, we hold a 'Sponsored Practice-a-thon' in which pupils from Forefield Junior School raise money by practising an instrument or singing songs every day for two weeks. As a reward for their efforts, pupils who take part are invited to perform in a special concert at Stamps Bistro. The children performed brilliantly and, once again, the afternoon was enjoyed by everyone.

This year, there were two buckets passed round for a collection; one marked 'Shave' and the other 'Grow' in reference to Mr Marriott's beard. A grand total of £256.27 was raised on the day, with £128.93 in the 'Shave' bucket and £127.34 in the 'Grow' bucket. These totals will go towards another fundraising event planned for 7th July.

Mr Marriott would like to thank all the children who took part in the Practice-a-thon and the concert, and everyone who supported these events to raise money for such a worthy cause.

CLIC Sargent is the UK’s leading cancer charity for children and young people, and their families. They provide clinical, practical, financial and emotional support to help people cope with cancer and get the most out of life. They are there from diagnosis onwards and aim to help the whole family deal with the impact of cancer and its treatment, life after treatment and, in some cases, bereavement.
