Visit to Quarry Bank Mill

Following on from their Victorian Day, Year 6 pupils visited Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, Cheshire. During the visit, children took a tour of the textile mill and learned about the importance of the machinery during the Industrial Revolution. They also had a taste of what life was like for children who were indentured as apprentices, both living and working at the mill. The experiences included a lesson in the school room, making beds in the dormitory and paying a visit to the apothecary.
