Year 6 Visit to Quarry Bank Mill

Following on from their Victorian Day in school, our Year 6 pupils visited Quarry Bank Mill in Styal, Cheshire, where children as young as 9-years of age worked as apprentices in the Victorian era.

During the course of the day, our pupils visited the apprentice house, where the children would have slept, eaten and studied. They also learned about some of the often dangerous tasks that the young apprentices would have performed during their working hours.
