Every year, in the summer term, the Year 6 children undertake a project based upon rainforests. To provide a real sense of involvement the Y6 classrooms and corridors are transformed into an incredible jungle of canopies, tropical plants, animals, and other sights and sounds of a tropical rainforest. This year, our rainforest displays have caught the attention of the BBC, who awarded us a place in the final of their rainforest competition:
Welcome to the Jungle!
When the crew arrived, they had a good look around before setting up their equipment. They needed to choose the best angles to film from and make sure that the levels of light were just right. |
Some of us were chosen to be interviewed in front of the camera. It was really difficult knowing just what to say, but the crew were very helpful and friendly, telling us that we were doing really well. |
Once the interviews were over, the crew took the camera around the classrooms and corridors to collect some footage of our displays. They were very impressed with what they saw. We think that you will be too! |

When it was all over and the crew had gone, we were still bubbling with excitement; looking forward to seeing ourselves on television later that evening. |
There was to be a telephone vote over the weekend to choose the best school. The winner was to be announced live on air on Monday evening. We could hardly wait! |
